Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a full-time (38 hours/week) Finance and Internal Accounts Officer to work with us on the internal financial administration of our organisation, as well as supporting the implementation of grant-based projects and other activities inside the NGO.
The work will be fully remote, however you should be based in Brussels, as you will be required to attend in-person meetings from time to time (on average six times a month).

Responsibilities
- Managing the organisation’s internal accounting records and financial documentation;
- Reviewing, organising and cleaning up accounting records from previous years;
- Preparing financial overviews to our stakeholders, internal reports and supporting documents;
- Supporting the preparation of annual accounts together with the external accountant;
- Ensuring proper filing and tracking of invoices, receipts, payments and reimbursements;
- Supporting financial reporting for active grants and funded projects;
- Assisting with budget monitoring for ongoing projects;
- Supporting general project administration and grant management when required;
- Taking on other flexible tasks typical of a European NGO environment.
Must Have
- Proven experience in accounting, financial administration or bookkeeping under Belgian law;
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as accounting, finance, business administration, economics or a related area;
- Ability to take responsibility for the organisation’s full in-house accounting process;
- Excellent command of both English and French;
- Proficient office IT skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), online collaborative tools (Google Workspace);
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and proactively;
- Team player, comfortable working in an international environment;
- Openness to work in a fast-paced and flexible international NGO environment;
- Willingness to take on different types of tasks, including project support, grants management and fundraising-related work when needed;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in accounting or financial administration within a nonprofit, association or NGO;
- Knowledge of Dutch;
- Prior engagement in youth NGOs or other NGOs at national or European level is highly valued.
